Rebalancing the facial nerve system

Comprehensive rebalancing of the facial peripheral nervous system and central nervous system
for coordinated nerve function

Chuna manual therapy
for the nerves

Deep abdominal
moxibustion

Chuna manual therapy for the nerves

Rebalances nerve signaling from the cervical spine down through the spine

A nerve-focused Chuna therapy that restores balance from the cervical spine through the spine so that peripheral facial nerve signals are transmitted actively and smoothly.

When spinal imbalance throws off the body's center and the muscles around the head and neck,

where the facial nerve nucleus is located, become tense with increased pressure, Chuna manual therapy for the nerves helps re-establish the body's center.

Deep abdominal moxibustion

Warming stimulation of abdominal acupoints that influence the facial nerve

Heat is delivered up to 10 cm beneath the skin of the abdomen to promote the circulation of qi and blood in the internal organs and blood flow to the facial nerve.

Abdominal circulation plays an important role in the body's overall facial nerve signaling,

and moxibustion on acupoints that influence the facial nerve may help when the face feels tingly or has lost sensation.

Intensive Care for Long-Standing Facial Palsy

If facial palsy is not treated in its early stages, it worsens into the sequelae stage after 3 months from onset.
When facial palsy becomes prolonged, the atrophy of paralyzed facial muscles hardens, making recovery difficult.
The facial nerve pathway regenerates slowly, and the regenerating facial nerve branches are weak and thin, failing to properly transmit facial nerve signals.

4 Major Symptoms of Facial Palsy Sequelae

  • Synkinesis : Abnormal movement where closing the eyes simultaneously moves the mouth, or pursing the lips as if whistling causes the eyes to close
  • Facial twitching : Unpredictable spasms occurring around the eyelids and cheekbones
  • Facial muscle contracture : The face becomes asymmetrical and facial muscles contract due to facial palsy
  • Crocodile tears : Saliva and tears are produced simultaneously while eating

Facial palsy becomes harder to treat over time.
Prompt care is key. Please don't hesitate to start treatment.

How our integrated facial palsy care began

"Facial palsy can be a lonely and difficult struggle. We will stay with you until you can smile again."

People with facial palsy look at their paralyzed face in the mirror every day, and their hearts ache.

If symptoms do not improve and the direction of care is not reviewed along the way,

the early window for treatment is often missed.

Seeing patients who had struggled with lingering effects of facial palsy come to Ebian Korean Medicine Clinic and continue their care, we learned that caring for facial palsy requires not a single stopgap method but an integrated approach to deficiency and excess in the internal organs

and the symptoms of facial paralysis together,

and that this is what matters.

Above all, in the long struggle with facial palsy, we must acknowledge patients' pain and help them hold on to hope so that they do not give up.

In our facial palsy care, Ebian Korean Medicine Clinic has met many patients with facial palsy. The visible symptoms may look similar, but the causes all differ,

and so do their constitutions.

We plan facial palsy care according to when it began and how severe the paralysis is.

That is why we developed integrated facial palsy care that combines internal and external treatments.

Through this integrated care, we will treat your face with the same care we would give our own.
